Morton’s unique construction lends itself to an ideal home option, providing ease of construction, floor plan flexibility, and optimal energy efficiency.

Ease of Construction: With any construction, there are various external factors that can impact the start of a building project. However, once our crews arrive at the site, the amount of time to construct the insulated shell of the building is approximately half what you would expect from other construction techniques.

Floor Plan Flexibility: Clear-span construction allows for no load-bearing or internal support walls, which equates to a flexible design with an open floor plan. The layout is completely up to you, the homeowner, to finish the interior based on your needs and design preferences.

Optimal Energy Efficiency: The standard stick-built home construction stud walls are typically 4-6” thick, compared to 9” thick Morton walls. The result is our insulation is one long, wide blanket of insulation that is both wider and thicker than the standard stud wall construction. Also, because of the deeper wall, all HVAC, electrical wiring, and plumbing can typically be run inside our vapor barrier without cutting holes in the columns or breaking the seal of the barrier that keeps insulation dry. Standard stick-built construction runs the wiring through the studs, which further compromises the energy efficiency. Learn more about our Energy Performer® insulation system!
